Why hasn't anyone begun a class action suit against SYDA?

What measurable effect does your page have on SYDA?

What can one person do on their own about SYDA?

Do you expect SYDA to collapse any time soon?

Response:

Greetings, I hope you have found our page informative. Am curious as to your relationship (past or present) to SY. I will try and answer your questions.

> Why hasn't anyone begun a class action suit against SYDA?

I am not aware of any and I don't think class action suits are possible here. Rather it would have to be individual law suits regarding very specific damages. Class action suits are more often used in product liability issues where, just by using the product, you are harmed. I believe there may have been some legal action against SYDA in regards to the lake project.

I think if someone files an individual law suit one of two things is likely to happen. First, the person has such a weak suit (SY has some very experienced and high pressure attorneys. At one time they were using the same attorneys as Scientology) and it is clear they are going to lose and it is dropped or dismissed by the court. Second, the person has a strong case and SY settles out of court. An obvious condition would be a mutual gag order. So while the person may have won some money, it would only be with the stipulation of keeping it a secret. To SY image is everything.

I have heard from some people that SY has had some of the staff sign a non-disclosure form, which would then make the individual liable if information was revealed from them.

I do not believe I have *ANY* effect on SY. I have seen individual people read this site and having then used that information to leave SY. For them this site is published. Also, I do not think there is anyway to measure what you ask. SY certainly does not publish how many people were in SY before the O Guru article came out and after. (They keep secret the numbers of people that come to public programs and take intensives. I do know that the number of people that came to see her in Oakland during visit in 95 was much smaller than those that saw here in 87.)

Leave SY. Take care of yourself. If you would like to submit your story to this website you are welcome to do so. Each person has a unique experience that is different and yet the same to others whole have left. Others will benefit from reading your story.

If you have information about illegal doings in SY, go to the authorities.

No.
